A code reader costs $30 and tells you almost nothing. Real diagnostics requires factory-level tools, live data, and experience. Dynasty uses BMW ISTA, Mercedes Star, Porsche PIWIS, Audi VCDS, Lexus Techstream — plus 20 years of pattern recognition — to figure out what's actually wrong.
Most shops read the code and throw the part that's most commonly associated with it. Sometimes that works. Often it doesn't — and you're back in two weeks with the light on again. Because the code reader tells you 'P0171' (lean condition) — it doesn't tell you whether it's a vacuum leak, a failing MAF sensor, or a fuel pressure regulator.
Dynasty does proper diagnosis. Factory-level scan tools. Live data streams. Freeze frame analysis. Smoke tests for vacuum leaks. Fuel pressure gauges. Bidirectional tests. And 20 years of seeing the same failures across the same platforms — so we know what's actually likely before we start testing.
Every job runs through the same standards. Race-team precision on street cars, dealer-level diagnostics at independent pricing, real expertise from real experience.
Full scan of all modules (not just engine), code retrieval, freeze frame data, and live data analysis. Real answers before we quote repairs.
BMW ISTA+, Mercedes Star / XENTRY, Porsche PIWIS, Audi VCDS, Lexus Techstream, Honda HDS. We see what the dealer sees.
Rough idle, stalling, misfires, hesitation, poor fuel economy — diagnosed with real tools, not guesses.
Wiring harness issues, module communication faults, intermittent electrical gremlins. The hardest jobs — our bread and butter.
Considering a used BMW, Mercedes, Porsche? We scan all modules, check for hidden codes, inspect mechanical and cosmetic condition.
Oil service lights, brake wear, TPMS, airbag — proper reset after repair, not just code-clear-and-hope.
A shop that throws parts at codes costs you money — both in parts you didn't need and in repeat visits. A shop that diagnoses properly costs less, even if the initial diagnosis fee seems higher. Because you fix the problem once, not three times.
That's what Dynasty does. We charge a fair diagnostic fee, we use the right tools, and we tell you the actual problem — plus what it would take to fix it. Then it's your call.
Every major brand, every major scan tool, every major fault pattern.
This is a flat diagnostic fee — not our hourly labor rate. It covers finding the fault. Any repair is quoted separately, and nothing gets done until you approve it.
BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Audi, and hybrid/EV platforms. Factory-level scan tools and the experience to read what they actually report.
Lexus, Acura, Infiniti, Corvette, and everything else in the bay. Same process, same equipment, same standard.
Most shops start the clock at one hour and keep billing. Level One includes the first two. Specialized testing beyond that — compression, smoke, or UV leak detection — is discussed and approved before we proceed.
How it works
1. We document your concern, inspect the vehicle, and run a computer diagnostic scan where needed.
2. We tell you what's wrong, what it costs to fix, and what can wait.
3. You decide. Repair pricing is quoted separately and never starts without your approval.
A proper diagnosis is the cheapest part of any repair. Guessing is what gets expensive — parts replaced that didn't need replacing, and a car that comes back with the same fault.
Once we know what's wrong, some repairs can be significant bills. If you'd rather spread the cost over time, we work with two financing partners — one for good credit with 6-month 0% promotional financing, one for income-based approval with no credit pull.
